'Fresh Air' Natural Indigo Dyed Cormo Wool Braided Roving
'Fresh Air' Natural Indigo Dyed Cormo Wool Braided Roving
We dyed our Cormo Wool roving with indigo from our garden here at Wing & A Prayer Farm. We call it 'Fresh Air' and it is harvested from our flocks and our flocks' offspring(some farms that we sell lambs to will sell their sheep's wool to us after shearing so we can combine it with the sheep's wool that live here.) We have the wool carded and combed into roving at Kingdom Fleece Fiber Works in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont, and then we dye it with our indigo we have harvested from our garden. There are two shades - the darker blue is from the fermented indigo vat, the light green-blue is from the fresh indigo vat. It is a wonderful and beautiful fiber, soft and luxurious. We love spinning it for yarns, felting or weaving it into tapestries. It is an expression of nature's finest. A hyper-locally sourced and processed natural fiber from a small woman-owned business. You'll be supporting the drawing down of carbon from the earth's atmosphere, a humanely and lovingly managed flock of producers, and local businesses.
