About the workshop~

Gumpaste is for everyone!

A 2-Day workshop for beginners that will leave you feeling like a pro. Learn how a soft blob of simple ingredients can be transformed into lifelike, everlasting sugar flowers with Maggie's gentle and encouraging approach to instruction. Workshop runs from 10 - 4:00 on May 17 + 18, 2025 in the bright and comfortable farmhouse kitchen studio.

What you'll learn~

Using Maggie Austin’s (perfect) homemade gumpaste recipe, make a stunning peony with hydrangea and leaves. You'll learn the three basic methods of sugar flower construction, how to use petal dust to transform your work, and stress-free arrangement techniques.

The setting~

May at Wing & A Prayer Farm means lambs and lilacs, spring is just arriving in the Green Mountain State and new growth is synonymous with new energy. You’ll be comfortable learning with Maggie in the Farmhouse kitchen studio with plenty of bright light and space to move around. You’ll be surrounded by the sights and sounds of a working fiber farm that you will be invited to take in and explore in and around the workshop hours. Let your troubles melt away in this weekend of learning while immersed in natural beauty and inspiring instruction.
