September 18 from 5 - 6 pm EST in real time from our barn on the farm, we'll meet up with Jess Ludwicki from Love Lamb in the Catskills of New York.
Jess Ludwicki is the farmer and felt maker behind Love Lamb.
Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York - Jess relocated to the Catskill Mountains with her husband Steve in 2015 and they began to slowly build their homestead.
During a long, dark, upstate New York Winter - Love Lamb was born. Determined to find a reason to add sheep to their growing farm, Jess spent months researching everything that could be made with wool.
Felt making seemed to come naturally to her, and while Jess now has her own small flock of Shetland and Babydoll sheep, she continues to source wool locally from fiber farms across New England. Her own sheep not only provide fiber, but play a critical role in Echo Orchard’s permaculture design - mowing the grass between trees and providing manure to enhance the soil.
We can't wait to learn more from Jess and get a glimpse into her process, her studio, and her beautiful creations.
