"Barn Chats" is our monthly Virtual-gathering in which Farmer Tammy hosts special guests for a one-hour chat, covering a range of topics from sustainable agriculture practice to homesteading, from fiber farming to managing a small farm, from sheep to shawl and all things in between.
Join us Saturday, January 23rd from 5 - 6PM EDT for our Zoom Gathering with Aliza Eliazarov, author and photographer of "On the Farm: Heritage & Heralded Animal Breeds in Portraits & Stories", published by Ten Speed Press, November 2020.
We had the distinctive pleasure and honor of hosting Aliza and her husband, Edward, here at the farm during the early days of her work on this incredible book. Many of our farm animals are featured in the pages, captured expertly with Eliazarov's photography and words. Aliza's scope and depth of knowledge of heritage and primitive breeds, the Livestock Conservancy, sustainable agricultural practices, and policies and practices that support regenerative farming and preventing extinction will all be a part of our discussion.
Aliza Eliazarov is a photographer and author. Her work has been recognized by The Atlantic, The New York Times, Saveur, Food & Wine, Slate, Communication Arts, The United Nations Food & Agricultural Organization, and the National Resources Defense Council; she was also one of the cover story photographers for Modern Farmer. She has also authored 3 2021 Calendars - 2 Alpaca Calendars and a Farm Portraits Calendar with Workman Press. She has won numerous awards and her work has been shown internationally including in Paris, China, and New York.
Farmer Tammy will be your hostess and help to keep the signal strong for this upcoming evening of agricultural and animal-love.
We recommend purchasing Aliza’s book from Indie-bookseller, Battenkill Books, in nearby Cambridge, NY. They have signed copies available HERE.
