Spring has sprung, so it must be time to build the tunnel garden!


The Snowdrops are blooming...

Oh Happy Day! The crocus are blooming and the honeybees are harvesting again...

Schilling babysits the incubator as the latest batch hatches...

38 new and tired day old chicks...

exceptionally early, workable soil...

exceptionally early planting - spinach and peas are in!

Time to build it: the tunnel garden construction PVC pipes stand at the ready to be bent into shape,

Stainless Steel Rods, (not everyone's husband works in a machine shop), for support...

sophisticated tools to drive the rods into the ground...

rods in place as anchors...

3/4 inch PVC fits perfectly over the 1/2 inch stainless steel rods...

little helpers on the outside today...

adding the poly...

and ta-dah!

The ends are loose for now, ready for me to set my seedlings in!

Confused Blue Runner Ducks, concerned about encroachment and unaware that they are this year's cultivators!

Happy Spring everyone!  It’s official – we’ve started our garden here on Wing and a Prayer Farm, the Bluebirds are back, the Spring Peepers are peeping and the Wood Frogs are chuckling!
